Rural Michigan Grant Letters Due November 2
A $4 million funding round includes community development and regional collaboration projects.

Michigan’s Office of Rural Prosperity announced a $4 million Rural Development Fund round on October 2. Letters of intent for the 2027 cycle are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on November 2, 2026.
The announcement describes grants of up to $100,000 for community and business development and up to $200,000 for regional collaboration. Eligible projects must serve qualifying rural areas. The applicant list includes businesses, tax-exempt organizations, governments, Tribes and education or workforce organizations.
Eligibility depends on both the applicant and the proposed project. A statewide organization should not assume that having a Michigan address is sufficient. Applicants need to identify the rural community served, the problem addressed and the appropriate funding category.
