In Marquette, KMI Space received $3.5 million for its Laelaps spacecraft program. The company estimates 60 additional jobs. The vehicle is being developed to retrieve and relocate satellites.
Training is part of the investment
The University of Michigan received $2 million through a regional nuclear workforce partnership. The announcement identifies Monroe County Community College, DTE and IBEW’s 6th District among the partners.
